Yamba Surf Life Saving Club Established 1908.
Yamba Beach has long been one of the most popular beaches on the north coast. Even before the road was built, holiday makers came by steamers to stay and bathe at Yamba. In fact its popularity and some well‐publicised rescues lead to the formation of Yamba Surf Club in the early 1900s, making it one of the oldest in the state. The beach itself is only 250m in length, but its location below the hotel and what used to be the camping reserve, plus car access ( despite limited parking at the beach ) have ensured its continued popularity.
