Local People with Global Knowledge.
DHL Australia has been in operation since 1972. Utilising our
unique worldwide infrastructure of people, vehicles and
facilities, we are able to offer a superior service, delivering
shipments around the globe with utmost care in the shortest
time.
The People
Wherever in the world DHL staff are located they are trained
in the same company philosophy; to think globally whilst acting
locally. Local staff interpreting and responding to the needs of
customers are capable of applying DHL's global and group
resources to each local customer's advantage.
The Network
The DHL Global Network is based on the hub and spoke method.
DHL has 32 major sorting centres or hubs located strategically
around the world. These are connected by spokes or the thousands
of daily flights of owned, leased, chartered and commercial
aircraft. The hubs are capable of handling over 100 million
shipments a year and serve as high speed conduits through the
regional gateways and routing centres we operate. The
combination of DHL and commercial flights is constructed so that
our customers can be assured of the latest possible pick up,
shortest transit time and the earliest delivery of their
shipments wherever possible.
The Fleet
DHL recognised the paramount importance of having a
dedicated ground fleet early in its growth. To obtain the
greatest control and ensure the unmatched level of DHL care over
a shipment's journey, it is imperative that the shipment is in
DHL hands. Our fleet of courier vehicles has an extensive
presence throughout the world and ensures that our customers
receive the fastest transit times and greatest care, wherever
they may be.
