This now popular beach was
characterised by rips and strong currents,
and was long regarded as dangerous. After
the entrance walls diverted the currents and
the beach grew seaward it increased in
popularity which lead to the formation of
the surf club in 1932. The result was an
even greater increase in popularity, such
that the club incorporated the name Lismore. |
